Highlighting the Lennox ML193

Are you in the market for a new gas furnace but have second thoughts on getting a high-efficiency unit? Are you worried about the price difference between a standard furnace and a condensing system? This article aims to give you helpful information as to why investing in a high-efficiency furnace makes more sense than what you might think.

For professional advice, call Marsh Heating and Air Conditioning. We are your friendly heating company in Bloomington MN that offers an array of furnace choices, including high-efficiency units.

Understanding AFUE

Every furnace model has an energy efficiency rating: itsAnnual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE), or the ratio of annual heat output of the furnace compared to the amount of annual fuel energy it consumes.

For example, if a furnace has an AFUE of 90 percent, it means 90 percent of the energy in the fuel is being converted to heat while the remaining 20 percent escapes in the air.

The government demands all furnace manufacturers build systems that have a minimum of 80 percent AFUE.

Benefits of High-Efficiency Furnaces

Greater Savings

New high-efficiency furnaces typically have a minimum AFUE rating of 90 percent and can be as high as 98 percent. With a high-efficiency unit, you get the most of every dollar you spend on fuel because at least 90 percent of it becomes heat for your home.

Better Airflow

Also known as a condensing furnace, a high-efficiency unit produces more even heating and a more stable room temperature. The better airflow of a new system can eliminate impurities from the air and prevent the development of mold. These factors can enhance the indoor environment of your home, leading to healthier, safer breathing.

Lower Operational Sound

In addition to the health and energy benefits of a new high-efficiency furnace, new condensing units give off much less operating noise than an older, conventional model. New energy efficient models use state-of-the-art sound-dampening materials that minimize the sound created by the furnace.

Features of the Lennox ML193

Standard Features

With product registration, the ML193 may be eligible for a 10-year Limited Extended Warranty. Lennox also offers a 5-year Limited Warranty on covered parts and 20-Year Warranty on the Heat Exchanger.

Every component of the ML193 has proven itself through extensive testing in our research labs. So you can take comfort knowing the furnace will deliver reliable performance, season after season.

The ML193 offers continuous comfort at a smart price.  But value doesn’t mean compromise. It’s still built to exacting Lennox® standards, with the Lennox commitment to your comfort.

When the ML193 is paired with a Lennox® heat pump, it creates a system that can automatically alternate between electricity and gas to keep you warm. So you’re always using the most energy-efficient way to keep comfortable.

Energy Efficiency

Compared to older, low-efficiency models, the ML193 has an efficiency rating of 93 percent AFUE that can save you hundreds of dollars in heating costs per year.

When paired with a Lennox® heat pump, the ML193 creates a system that can automatically alternate between electricity and gas fuel to keep you warm. So you’re always using the most energy-efficient way to keep comfortable.

The blower compartment of the ML193 is tightly sealed, permitting less than 1% air leakage. This means more of your air and energy go toward keeping you comfortable.

The ML193 has a Duralok Plus heat exchanger that is constructed from patented ArmorTuf steel that captures waste heat, and a stainless steel secondary heat exchanger that allows the unit to achieve industry-leading efficiency levels. This solid component exceeds industry requirements and extends the furnace’s life.

Its SureLight® ignitor is designed with silicon nitride construction for long product life and reliable operation.

Its SureLight® integrated control board ensures full control of furnace operation.

To further lessen heat loss, Lennox designed the ML193 with an elegantly-styled, durable steel cabinet with high-quality paint finish.
