If you had a toothache, you wouldn’t go visit just anyone who called himself a dentist. You would take the proper measures to ensure the person you trusted with your dental issue had the proper education and experience to back his or her supposed title. So, if your cooling or heating system was in need of service, or you wanted to discuss an upgrade, why would you hire an HVAC technician who wasn’t specially certified?
Heating and cooling systems involve complex machinery and intricate parts, and just because a technician has been working on this equipment for many years does not necessarily mean that he or she is an expert. The North American Technician Excellence (NATE) non-profit certification organization, however, only certifies HVAC professionals who can pass a number of rigorous knowledge-based tests.
Each test covers a specialty area such as air conditioning, heat pumps, gas furnaces and more. A NATE-certified technician is someone who has not only learned a great deal about HVAC systems, but can easily demonstrate his or her in-depth knowledge. Thus, technicians who have been certified by NATE are truly proven experts in their field.
Whenever you need to have your HVAC system serviced, insist that the specialist who visits your home is a NATE-certified technician. When it comes to your home comfort, you should never settle for less than the best professionals in the industry.
